If you’re planning to attend the commencement in Shanghai, the following checklist will help ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable day with your graduate.
Plan Your Visit
If you are planning to visit your graduate in Shanghai for longer than just Commencement day, please consider making arrangements for the week following the Ceremony. The week prior to the Ceremony will be a busy one for graduates, as they will be participating in class-only festivities and saying goodbye to their classmates and friends.
Apply for a Visa
International guests should check with their local Chinese embassy or consulate to determine if a visa is required for their visit and apply in good time.
Here is the Chinese Visa for Family Members Guide for your reference, created by the Office of Student Mobility (shanghai.student-mobility@nyu.edu)
Book Lodging
To secure a discounted room, reserve using an NYU domain email address. Your graduate should make this reservation on your behalf.
